BIG changes to the forecast from yesterday. The latest info is showing this to mainly be a snow event for us little on the mix and ice, which is great news. However the big story is going to be those temps. I am just posting Saturday and Saturday Overnight until we can figure out exactly what the accumulations are going to be with the snow, that will have large impacts on what temps we will see Sunday.
Current estimates on the snow are above. The Joplin area should start to see snow in the early afternoon period and last through evening time. I dont expect it to be a long duration event since the frontal system is rapidly moving through. That also means a low accumulation number for the area.
Temps will be critical starting in the afternoon and working through the overnight into Sunday. We will also see high winds which will bring the windchill values well into the subzero area.
