Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 2PM Tuesday until 6AM Wednesday.
More winter weather will push into the area late this afternoon into tonight. Precipitation may begin as rain across southern Missouri early on and then change over to freezing rain as temperatures fall below freezing this evening. Further northwest, lesser amounts of freezing rain and freezing drizzle are expected. Light snow will be confined to portions of central Missouri where only trace amounts up to a half inch are expected. Precipitation will end late this evening into the overnight hours.
I am expecting drizzle to start working in early afternoon and pickup in intensity after 5PM. After 6PM temps should be into the mid to lower 20's across the area and continue dropping into the upper teens for lows. This will assist the precipitation to freeze on surfaces.
Tuesday Afternoon - Low
Tuesday Evening - Moderate
Tuesday Overnight - High
Wednesday Morning - High
Wednesday Midday - Moderate
Wednesday Afternoon Low
Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to one half inch and ice accumulations of around one tenth are expected.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility, and use caution while driving.
